Swimming Pool Safety

We are keen to maintain a safe and pleasurable Gite and garden for you to enjoy.

The swimming pool is the most dangerous area at Le Chevalier Noir. By French law it must be enclosed within a lockable enclosure. We have locking gates at either end of the swimming pool agrden area. The area is kept locked during times when the pool is closed, basically overnight when the main pool cleaning and filtration systems are working.

Children under 16 are not allowed within the swimming pool area unaccompanied at any time. They must be accompanied by an adult swimmer who is responsible for them and their safety.

The depth of the swimming pool varies from just under 1 metre at the shallow end, to about 2 metres in the middle of the deep end. Non-swimmers must have appropriate bouyancy/swimming aids and be supervised at all times.

We also insist that no glass bottles or crockery be taken into the swimming pool area. We provide acrylic jugs, plates and 'glasses' for that reason/purpose.
